【Artist Profile】
Hiromi Matsuo is an illustrator. Her debut manga “Waltz of department store” (a Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha publication) published in 2016 was a big hit. Since then, her illustrations, which are created with an outstanding sense of color, refined composition, attention to detail, and a stylish sensibility, have gained popularity and acclaim as “strikingly beautiful”, with special exhibitions held at numerous art museums and events. Hiromi Matsuo won the Grand Prize (Manga Category) at the Japan Cartoonists Association Awards with “MAGAZINE RONDO” (Jitsugyo no Nihon Sha) published in 2022. Her range of activities is also expanding to include collaborations on products such as fans, women’s shoes, scarves, and merchandise for anime and popular musicians.
