【Artist Profile】

Osamu Harada debuted as an illustrator in the first issue of the magazine “an an” (Published by Magazine House) in 1970, and soon became active in the magazine and advertising industry. In 1976, he launched the character goods brand “OSAMU GOODS” with the “Mother Goose” motif that became an explosive hit among high school girls. Many other famous works designed and illustrated by Harada include the mascot character for “Calbee Potato Chips” (commonly known as “Potato boy”) (1976), premium illustrations for Mister Donut (1984-), “Hyo-chan” for Kiyoken’s soy sauce packaging (1988) and more, making him one of Japan’s leading illustrators today.
