Akira Uno (1934-), also known as Aquirax Uno, is a Japanese illustrator and graphic designer.
Since the 1960s, Uno has been known for his numerous illustration works, often depicting sexy girls. His work has been variously characterized as Japanese underground art, erotic art and pop art. In the 60s and 70s, Uno, with his trend-setting works, came to be regarded as a great master among young Japanese artists and fans. Today, Uno shows no sign of slowing down and continues to publish new work on books, magazines, album jackets and more.

This art book focuses on Uno’s “fantastical illustrations”, drawn from his previous works on book illustrations and book designs in particular. Some underground works are classic Uno, while other more feminine and fancy illustrations make their publication debut in this volume, offering both long-time and younger fans a fresh perspective on Uno’s body of work.
