Author
Mayumi Maeda is a picture book author. She studied English literature at Kobe College, and was a student of the painter Yuji Sugiura. She is the author of numerous books, including “Inspirational Sayings” (Sogensha) and“Nonoka Ehon Haru to Natsu no Hana” (“The Wildflower Picture Book: Spring and Summer Flowers”) (Asunaru Shobo). Her translations include the Japanese editions of “Lost in Translation: An Illustrated Compendium of Untranslatable Words from Around the World” (Sogensha), “Maybe” and “I Love You to the Moon and Back” (PIE International). Maeda’s translation of “Aoi Ahiru” (“The Blue Duck”) (Shufuu no Tomo) was awarded the 67th Sankei Children’s Book Award for Translated Works.
